227 West 29th is in an area that is quickly turning into a home for tech and design businesses. This is due primarily to the rising popularity of NoMad to the East and Chelsea to the West. As these areas have expanded toward 29th between 7th and 8th Avenues, the block has seen the addition of art galleries, hotels, residences, restaurants, and nightspots. This growth over the past five years shows no abatement, and should escalate with the redevelopment of Penn Station and Madison Square Garden only a few blocks away, as well as the opening of nearby Hudson Yards.
